This exhibit was inspired by a summer visit in 2004 to Connecticut's Beardsley Zoo to see their new greenhouse. As way of background, Chewie is a prairie dog from Connecticut's Beardsley Zoo who actually attended one of our MixedBrew events in Stamford along with some other zoo critters thus becoming CoolTea's pseudo mascot.

In 2002, the Zoo was looking to raise money for a new greenhouse so we partnered with a horticultural team selling perennials as a fundraiser - hence Chewie initiated our first CoolTea Challenge (e.g., efforts to raise awareness and funds in worthy nonprofit directions).

While we did not raise the funds per se for the new Beardsley Zoo greenhouse, we did add promotional love and efforts in said direction - it's great to see worthy nonprofits like the Zoo achieve their capital goals - bravo to all who invest in their communities!
